Retroish love, Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph

December 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I like complicated watches. This Patek is so unique and retro looking…

The original Nautilus design was made in 1976. My October 2006 updated version comes with chronograph. Its denim blue, horizontal embossed pattern dial and case is so sharp.

Some of my friends think this watch is ugly and looks cheap! But it is their opinion

Its full name is Patek Philippe Nautilus chronograph 5980/1A.

This great watch comes only in stainless steel case, sapphire-crystal caseback with integrated bracelet in 44mm*38.5mm case size (not heavy!).

It is an automatic flyback chronograph like my Alinghi.

This one is said to be a water resistant sports watch (120 meters), but for me, it is a casual dress watch! I don’t think you can wear this with your bathing or training suits!!!

Dial is so clean . As the watch is all steel, only the minute/hour hands and the hour markers are made of white gold with luminous coating which glows great in the nights.

I like to sleep with my watches on, and even if you take this off, it still runs great. It has a 55-hour power reserve

If you still don’t like this beauty, think of it as an investment… Now, there is a long waiting list. But if it becomes discontinued like many other Pateks, we will see these in the future auctions.
